Project Summary

The Canberra Institute of Technology approached Phoeniks with the goal of modernising their hospitality training kitchen to reflect the latest industry standards. Their existing setup relied heavily on outdated gas equipment, which posted challenges in terms of energy efficiency, safety and alignment with modern culinary practices.

CIT's key objective was to create a fully electric, state-of-the-art training environment that offered students hands-on experience with same sustainable technologies now being adopted across the professional hospitality industry.

Working in close collaboration with CIT, Phoeniks designed and delivered a tailored all-electric solution featuring:

This upgraded electric kitchen provides a cleaner, quieter and safer learning space, with reduced heat, smoke and energy consumption. It enables both educators and students to work in a comfortable, professional-grade environment that mirrors real world industry conditions.

The transformation presents a major leap forward & marks a significant milestone for CIT's hospitality program. By moving away from gas and embracing cutting-edge electric technology, CIT is now setting a new benchmark for sustainable, high-performance teaching kitchens in Australia.

With years of experience in energy-efficient kitchen design, Phoeniks delivered a seamless transition from gas to electric, combining innovation, efficiency and reliability. The result is a future-ready training kitchen that reflects today's sustainability and performance standards.
